5. Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak
The story focuses on Max, who was asked to go back to his room without dinner after playing around the house in his wolf costume. But Max started an adventure on his own in a forest with the wild things, only to go back home to see that his dinner is still on the table. It showed him just how much his parents love him. For kids, they might truly imagine their room as a forest when you turn off the lights.
