Nearly Apple Pie

How about treating your toddler to his first taste of apple pie–well, not exactly the usual apple pie with its rich carbohydrate content–but one that is toddler-friendly. What we do is lessen the carbs to suit your kid’s sensitive tummy. Here’s the recipe:

  • Natural and homemade apple sauce without sugar
  • Mashed banana
  • A teaspoon of cinnamon
  • Zero-honey graham crackers (well crushed)
  • Baby oatmeal

Here’s how we do it. Thoroughly mix equal parts of the apple sauce and baby oatmeal. Add the mashed banana plus cinnamon. Gradually add in some crushed Graham crackers as you continue to mix the whole thing and until you achieve a pie-filling consistency. That will definitely make your toddler’s Christmas day special.
