The latest Instagram trend that has caught social media-active parents in Japan involves squishing the babies’ faces to make them look like Japanese rice balls.

Japanese parents are obsessed over turning their babies into cute and adorable onigiri rice balls.

Buzzfeed reported that the trend started when Japanese comedian Masahiro Ehara posted pictures of his rice-ball babies on Instagram.

Since then, Japanese parents have started posting photos of their own babies on Instagram and Twitter, using the hashtag #赤ちゃんおにぎり, which translates to “baby rice ball.”

Just look at these photos and you’ll probably understand why parents are so into the trend.
